Sandfire recently hosted a three-day leadership forum in Perth, Western Australia, where members of our leadership team from Botswana, Spain, Montana, and Australia were all in attendance.
The workshop provided a fantastic opportunity for our team to collaborate and work together on leadership strategies to inspire team members and build trust and engagement within our global workforce.
As part of the thoughtful and collaborative sessions, team members were given the opportunity to test their bike building skills as part of an exciting team building challenge!
Working in small groups, teams were asked to complete several puzzles before unlocking their tools and bikes. Once all activities were successfully completed the bike building began in earnest with the goal of building the best bike in a timely manner.
Once each bike had been built, teams were asked to present their bikes for rigorous checking by an expert and for scoring based on safety, quality, and time. The team with the best score were declared the winners and presented with the winning medallions.
The bikes that were built were donated to deserving children from Autism Alliance Australia who were there to receive them in person. All our teams were winners when they saw the smiles on the children’s faces as they presented them with their brand-new bikes and were thanked by the carers and supporters of the charity.

Foro de Equipos de Liderazgo de Sandfire
Este año, Sandfire celebró durante tres días un foro de liderazgo en Perth, en Australia Occidental, al que asistieron los miembros de nuestro equipo de liderazgo de Botswana, España, Montana y Australia.
En este taller nuestros equipos sénior de liderazgo trabajaron en común para definir nuestro Propósito y pusieron a prueba los elementos esenciales de nuestro plan de acción con el objeto de garantizar que funcionen bien con dicho Propósito, lo que incluye el diseño y la definición de la Estrategia de Sandfire.
Los miembros del equipo tuvieron la oportunidad de probar sus destrezas para construir una motocicleta como parte del reto de creación de equipos.
Trabajando en pequeños grupos, se pidió a los equipos que completaran varios puzles antes de desvelar sus herramientas y motos. Cuando terminaron con éxito todas las actividades, comenzó la construcción de la moto de verdad con el objetivo de crear el mejor modelo en el plazo de tiempo previsto.
Una vez terminadas todas las motos, se pidió a los equipos que las presentaran para que un experto pudiera inspeccionarlas exhaustivamente y calificarlas atendiendo a los criterios de seguridad, calidad y tiempo de ejecución. El equipo que obtuvo la mejor puntuación fue declarado vencedor y se le otorgaron medallas.
Las motos construidas fueron donadas para prestar servicio a niños y niñas autistas de la organización Autism Alliance Australia, que estuvo presente en el acto para recibirlas en persona. Todos nuestros equipos resultaron ganadores al ver las sonrisas en las caras de los niños y niñas cuando se les presentaron las flamantes motos; también recibieron el agradecimiento de los cuidadores y defensores de esta organización.
