Meet Sonia,
Sonia is the drill and blast supervisor at Sandfire MATSA’s Magdalena Mine.
Sonia completed her degree in Mining Engineering in 2014, before going on to complete a Master’s in Occupational Risk Prevention, in 2015.
Recently, Sonia was named the inaugural winner of Sandfire MATSA’s Safety Ideas Contest Awards.
“It is an honor to contribute towards a great company and to implement safety improvement where all workers can benefit, both at Magdalena and the rest of the mines.” Sonia said.
Outside of work, Sonia is very family-oriented, valuing her time with family and friends.
