Sandfire is committed to collaborating with our stakeholders to deliver lasting, positive contributions to the communities where we operate.
We are committed to improving people’s lives by creating lasting social, environmental and economic value where we operate. We do this by providing jobs and business opportunities, paying taxes and royalties, developing local suppliers and supporting community programs.
In order to better understand and respond, we listen to our stakeholders to understand what’s important to them and work together to create shared value.
Our commitment in Botswana centres on working with identified community stakeholders located in the villages of Kuke, D’ Kar, Qabo, Grootlaagte, and Hanahai, and Ghanzi Town (the administrative capital of Ghanzi region).
Where possible, Sandfire will uphold existing social initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Local Government and its supporting councils, agencies and resources through partnership and collaboration.
There are four pillars within our Motheo Community Framework:
Community Health
Education
Women Empowerment
Youth Development
