Brendan Harris launches Women’s Horticulture Project in Ghanzi

Sandfire’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Brendan Harris, recently launched the Women’s Horticulture Project in Ghanzi. The initiative is run in partnership with the Botswana Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Support Centre and is designed to equip women with the necessary skills and resources for cultivating vegetables.

Collaborating closely with the Department of Crop Production, the women involved in the project have undergone training in Vegetable Crop Management. Sandfire has supported the initiative by providing essential resources, including land, water, seeds, and fertilizers, as part of its funding commitment.

This sponsorship aligns with Motheo’s community framework, which includes a focus on empowering women through strategic collaboration and promoting economic development to ensure food security in the district.
