Sandfire joins leaders at Goldman Sachs Global Metals and Mining Conference

This week, Sandfire joined metal and mining leaders in London for LME Week, an important annual gathering of the metals and mining community.

Our Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Brendan Harris, joined South32 CEO, Matt Daley, and Eldorado Gold Chair, Dan Myerson, at the Goldman Sachs Global Metals and Mining Conference panel session moderated by Paul Young which covered capital allocation, portfolio optimisation, and the medium-term outlook for copper and other critical industrial metals.

Brendan highlighted that our two high-quality operating Assets, MATSA and Motheo, are generating the cash flow that enables us to execute our simple strategy of growing shareholder returns through:

  • Extending mine life through exploration and reserve growth
  • Advancing evaluation of the Kalkaroo Copper-Gold Project development opportunity
  • Maintaining a strong balance sheet and capital discipline
  • Returning excess capital to shareholders.

It was also encouraging to hear broad agreement across the panel on the long-term fundamentals for copper and zinc.

With high-quality, long-life assets becoming increasingly important as structural supply challenges support a constructive medium to long-term outlook, Sandfire is well positioned to deliver the resources needed to energise the future.
