Sandfire Resources Careers

Sandfire Resources is rapidly developing the high-grade DeGrussa Copper-Gold deposit in mid-west WA, one of the most spectacular discoveries in Australia in modern times.

Mining at our 1.5Mtpa underground operation has started. First production of direct shipping ore from the Open Pit is on track for 1 March 2012. This will be less than three years after its discovery - a phenomenal timetable by any industry standard.

Construction of the DeGrussa concentrator is well underway with completion and commissioning due in the third quarter of this year. DeGrussa currently has an initial seven-year mine life. It will produce up to 77,000t of payable copper and 36,000 ounces of gold a year during the first three years. The Definitive Feasibility Study showed the project would be a low-cost producer capable of delivering solid profits to underpin the company’s growth strategy.
